How it works

The current stepped formula is used: coefficient = floor(subscribers / 250) + 1; levels 1–8 = ceil(coefficient × level / 2), level 9 = coefficient × 7, level 10 and above = coefficient × level. Check Telegram rules.

Boost requirements for each Telegram channel level

Check your result against the current rules: for 10,000 subscribers, level 5 requires 103 boosts. The calculator shows the total needed and how many are still missing. Only Telegram Premium holders can give votes, and channel admins planning stories, premium reactions, or styling can use it.

How many boosts does my channel need for the target level?

Telegram boost calculator

Enter the channel's subscriber count, the number of currently active boosts, and a target level from 1 to 100. The calculator will show both the total boost requirement for that level and the remaining number of boosts needed to reach it.

This calculation applies to channels only. Both the subscriber and active boost fields accept values up to 1,000,000,000, while the target level ranges from 1 to 100. Quick buttons for levels 1, 5, 10, and 50 make it easy to check common milestones without typing a value manually.

The calculation starts with the channel coefficient:

channel coefficient = floor(subscribers / 250) + 1.

In the default example, a channel has 10,000 subscribers, no active boosts, and a target of level 5. First, calculate the coefficient: floor(10,000 / 250) + 1 = 40 + 1 = 41. Levels 1 through 8 use the following rule:

levels 1 trough 8 require ceil(coefficient × level / 2) boosts.

For level 5, the calculation is ceil(41 × 5 / 2)  = ceil(102.5) = 103. The channel therefore needs 103 boosts in total. Since there are currently 0 active boosts, it is also missing 103 boosts.

The remaining vlue follows a simple rule: max(total required − already active, 0). If the channel already has more boosts than the selected level requires, the missing result remains 0 instead of becoming negative.

Why do boost requirements change at level 9 and level 10?

The rules are not a single continuous progression. Levels 1-8 use ceil(coefficient × level / 2), level 9 uses coefficient × 7, and level 10 and above use coefficient × level.

This distinction becomes important when comparing nearby levels. At lower levels, Telegram divides the coefficient-and-level product by two and rounds the result up, so any fractional value becomes the next whole boost.

For a channel with 10,000 subscribers, the coefficient is 41. At  level 1, the threshold is ceil(41 × 1 / 2) = ceil(20.5) = 21 boosts. At level 9, the formula changes to coefficient × 7, giving 41 × 7 = 287 boosts. At level 10, the next rule applies: 41 × 10 = 410 boosts.

These formula changes explain why the results for level 9 and level 10 can differ noticeably from earlier levels. The calculator always applies the corretc  formula for the selected target instead of extending the level 1-8 rule beyond its intended range.

The coefficient also changes as a channel grows. Each time the subscriber count reaches another 250-subscriber step, floor(subscribers / 250) may increase, raising the total number of boosts required for the same target level.

Can I check the calculator result against real examples?

Yes. A channel with 1,000 subscribers has a coefficient of 5, and level 1 requires ceil(5 × 1 / 2) = 3 boosts.

Verifying a few known examples is a practical way to understand the results before choosing a target. In the 1,000-subscriber example, floor(1,000 / 250) + 1 = 4 + 1 = 5. Because level 1 falls within the early-level range, the value is rounded up from 2.5 to 3.

For 10,000 subscribers, the coefficient is 41. The following values illustrate the key formula boundaries:

Target level Formula used Total boosts required
Level 1 ceil(41 × 1 / 2) 21
Level 5 ceil(41 × 5 / 2) 103
Level 9 41 × 7 287
Level 10 41 × 10 410

The level 5 example also demonstrates how the remaining value works. If the channel needs 103 boosts and already has 103 active boosts, the missing value is 0. The result is also 0 if the channel has 104 or more active boosts, since the calculator never returns a negative number.

Who can boost a Telegram channel?

A boost is a vote assigned to a channel by a user with an active Telegram Premium subscription.

Each Premium subscription provides one vote that can be assigned to one channel. Someone with access to multiple qualifying subscriptions can cast multiple votes, but each subscription contributes only a single vote.

It is important to distinguish subscribers from boosting voters. The subscriber count is used to calculate the coefficient and, in turn, the level threshold. Active Premium votes are what count toward reaching that threshold.

A channel can have a large auience but relatively few active boosts, or a smaller audience with enough votes to reach a higher level. That is why the calculator requests both values separately.

Where can I find active boosts and the channel voting link?

A channel administrator can view the current number of active boosts in Telegram by opening the channel's Statistics section and selecting the Boosts tab.

Enter that number into the calculator's existing boosts feld. It reflects the currently active votes rather than the total number of votes the channel has ever received.

People can open a channel's voting page using a link in this format: t.me/channel_name?boost. Replace channel_name with the public username of the relevant channel where applicable. The address is shown as plain text because it is a Telegram link format rather than a separate catalog page.

  1. Open the channel's Statistics section and choose Boosts.
  2. Copy the current active vote total into the calculator.
  3. Enter the current subscriber count and choose the target level.
  4. Use the non-negative missing figure to see the present gap.

Following these steps keeps the calculation aligned with the channel's current status instead of relying on outdated in-app values.

What can a higher Telegram channel level unlock?

Higher channel levels can unlock posting stories as the channel, premium reactions, an emoji status, profile backgrounds and colours, and a custom emoji pack.

The easiest benefit to measure is story capacity: each level adds one extra channel story per day. If stories are part of the channel's publishing workflow, you can compare the selected target level directly with the additional daily posting capacity it provides.

The remaining level-related features affect the channel's appearance and interaction options. Premium reactions and custom emoji assets expand expression, while an emoji status, profile background, and colours offer additional profile customisation.

Before choosing a target, compare the required active boost threshold with the features you intend to use. It is easier to evaluate a target level when it matches a specific goal, such as more daily stories or additional profile customisation.

Why can a channel lose a level after reaching it?

A reached level is not permanent because a Telegram Premium user can remove a vote and assign it to a different channel.

Subscription status also matters. When a user's Telegram Premium subscription expires, the vote from that subscription no longer counts toward the channel's active boost total. As a result, the total may decrease even if the subscriber count remains unchanged.

Levels need maintenance: the channel must continue to hold enough active votes to satisfy the threshold for its selected level. If the active total falls below that requirement, the level may no longer be retained.

Check Statistics >> Boosts again after known vote changes or subscription expirations. Entering the updated active count into the calculator will show whether there is currently a shortfall for the chosen target level.

Cna Telegram change the boost rules used in the calculation?

Yes. Telegram lowered channel level thresholds in autumn 2023, and it may revise the boost rules again in the future.

The calculator uses the current coefficient and level formulas, including the separate rules for levels 1-8, level 9, and levels 10 and above. Even so, the result is an estimate, not a permanent Telegram rule or a guaranteed future threshold.

It is worth recalculating whenever Telegram changes its mechanics or the channel's audience size changes. The total depends on boht the current rules and the subscriber count used in floor(subscribers / 250) + 1.

Use the calculated value as a clear planning reference, then verify the current active boost count in Telegram before making decisions about a target level.

Were can I get the boosts that are still missing?

If the calculator shows a positive missing value, choose the appropriate Telegram Premium catalog category based on whether the channel is public or private.

For a public channel, Likest.ru lists Channel boosts (unlock stories). For a private channel,  use Private channel  boosts (unlock stories).

Available catalog hold periods are 1, 7, 15-25, 30, 60, 90, and 180 days. Use the calculator's total required value, your current active boost count, and the missing result to determine the channel's current boost gap before selecting the appropriate option.
